The Flying Dodo
Millie Loves Hector: Christmas 2020
I cry every night in the same way.
Nothing is new in the sorrow or nothing
is unexpected maybe.
That’s it.
Nothing can be found in the face
like a liar shaking his fist and laughing.
I hide behind you in the dollar store all those staring faces.
They don’t know you just killed me
or that our love is not more than the
Plastic Santa or reindeer strings for your bathroom mirror.
Once, when I still believed in the flashing lights,
I let you tell me about love.
You whispered sweet nothings
And then we went to your mom's house.
It’s the same way today;
I'm waiting for you to tell me you love me.
