Song of the Rain and the Lake

You are a lake, blue as the surrounding
sea and heavens so full of cumulus

clouds floating slowly over your island.
Around you flowers of every kind

dapple the green grass with their bright colors,
lush bushes and tall trees compete with the

grass for the warm rays streaming from the sun.
I am the rain that falls on you, in you,

blending, melding in you, sustaining all
your glory, renewing life, offering

mine. Then ascending through warm, fragrant air,
I gaze on you, and then to sky return.
